Answer by mschulman1024
You would have to make 2 connections. The first one would be in LAX and the next in PPT.

You would need to get to LAX where you can then take a non-stop flight to PPT (Papeete) which is in in the island of Tahiti. This flight only runs daily during certain times of the year. I recommend booking though code-share with an in-line transfer agreement so you bags can be checked all the way to PPT from SAN.

Once in Papeete, you can take a flight to Moorea. This can either be done by Air Tahiti or a private charter. The flight is only a few minutes and generally on a small prop plane with open windows and a net instead of a door.

Be sure to leave enough time in PPT as you will need to collect your bags, clear customs, and head over to the National terminal for the flight to Moorea.

I would recommend using a travel agent to book this type of itinerary. A real human agent, not an on-line one.
