Has anyone adopted a baby/child from Liberia before or in the process?

Has anyone adopted a baby/child from Liberia before or in the process?

My husband and I are both very interested in adopting a baby or young toddler from liberia and could use any helpful information from your experience. Which agency did you use? How much did it cost? What was the time frame? Any other tips of information would be great!!! Thanks so much :o)

Be very cautious with Liberia! Be certain you don't get unintentionally caught up in child trafficking. The last thing you want to do is participate in an illegal adoption.

Read these before choosing an agency:

Current article in Mother Jones on the tribulations of global adoption - lots of comments!

I'd suggest reading many books on adoptees and their experience to help you prepare.

The length of time for an adoption varies, as does the cost. You can use the library and the Internet for information to help prepare.

Hope this helps!
