After Katona's pregnancy she was reported to be about 12 stone. She has been battling the bulge ever since.
Kerry Katona has lost 14 stone in 9 months. This is partly due to liposuction costing £15,000 which was then followed by 6 months of a brand new diet regime. She lives on Bran flakes, salads with grilled chicken and protein shakes throughout the week, and treats herself to fatty things only at the weekends.
She has salads and chicken breasts for lunch and sometimes dinner, but sometimes she replaces her dinner with a filling protein shake. (Source: Daily Mail 15th January 2009)
It was later reported that she put 30 lbs back on and decided to attend fat camp to kick start her weight loss again. She wants to be seen as the attractive girl next-door as she was once known and hopefully this time she will harness her discipline and keep to the routine that lost her loads of weight before.
She said her new diet is working and she is on the Special K diet and is using the gym to tone up; mainly sit-ups and using the treadmill until she can hardly speak!.
According to one source her goal will be to lose the weight to get herself a new advertising deal or another reality TV show like the one she had once on MTV.
Keeping to a diet is the hardest part and there may be many reasons why you fail sometimes. Sometimes it's nerves and food is seen as a comfort. Sometimes it's greedyness and sometimes you just can't help yourself tucking in to your favourite foods like they're some sort of drug. Either way the more tools you have on your side the better,
