What were the experiences of black people in feudal or ancient japan?

What were the experiences of black people in feudal or ancient japan?

I have googled it every way I know how, and can't find any accounts of black peoples' experiences in feudal Japan; except for a debated description of the shogun Sakanoue no Tamuramaro. He may or may not have been a very dark Japanese man. What I hope to learn about are any foreign black individuals in Japan, during the years before and up to the Meiji Era.

SHIMODA, Japan (May 18, 2012) Adm. Dan Cloyd, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Japan, boards the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) as part of his visit to Shimoda, Japan, for the annual Black Ship Festival. The festival commemorates the 1854 landing of Commodore Matthew Perry and the signing of the Japan-American Treaty of Trade and Amity. McCampbell is forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, and is underway in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responisbility. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Matthew R. Cole/Released)
