Is it wrong to set animals free from places like mink farms?

Is it wrong to set animals free from places like mink farms?

And would they be better off/survive out of captivity?

Lesotho best answer:

Answer by old lady
Most animals raised in captivity - chickens, mink, etc. - no longer have the capacity to survive in the wilderness. They've been brought up with food and water provided for them, and a safe place to sleep. The first couple of generations could probably make their way in the wild, but succeeding generations wouldn't because they have no role model and would be easy prey for local carnivores.
