Why are France playing in the 4 nations?

They will surely be heavily beaten by Australia, New Zealand and England and this will not help them develop as watching their team being well beaten will not encourage interest in the sport.
Why not get them to play Fiji, PNG and Tonga

Tonga best answer:

Answer by Aaron M
the reason is so england and new zealand can have a victory. yes they might turn up and even win it but its so if they dont turn up at least they will get one win each. If they were smart they would have had a rest of world team, at least they would have some hope.
