I planning on going to Jordan, to marry my Jordanian fiance, but upon returning to the US (w/o him), what happens if you do not declare your marriage status to a US Embassy?

<p><i>Answer by ryssee</i><br/>They might find out anyway from Jordan. The right thing to do is report it and find out if you're legally married in the US. There are all sorts of tax changes and rights that get changed upon marriage.</p>
