Egypt best answer:

Answer by ?
Egypt was only a protectorate, it was never colonised by the British, only in military sense.

One plus note was of course the Suez Canal, which helped a great deal with quicker movement of trade and commerce. A negative point, Fez hats became popular for a little while and they suck.

Egypt's parliamentary elections to the People's Assembly were from November 28, 2011 to January 11, 2012, following the revolution that ousted Hosni Mubarak, after which the SCAF dissolved the parliament.

Originally, the elections were scheduled to be held in September 2011, but was postponed amid concerns the established parties would gain undue advantage.
