what happened to the Batibo people in Cameroonian history?

Like my grandparents came from that village.. in Cameroon. I heard that the French, German, English, and Portugese at one point were in Cameroon so I'm wondering if I could in any way be part European? That would be cool. I'd just like to know if its a possibility. Batibo is a village in Cameroon thats near Bamenda.
Woops, sorry. My grandparents just call it "the village" though, lol. And yeah we're Moghamo people.
And thanks for all the help! I guess I'll have to look into it more but its hard to find information. And I met 2 kings from Cameroon before, but apparently there are a lot of kings lol. And I like being cameroonian, i was just curious as most people nowadays are like mixed-race in some way

Answer by muinghan
Batibo, Cameroon is NOT a village.
It's home of around 10,000 people.
It's always been a "royal seat", the Fon Palace of Batibo.
The Batibo Fon's palace and the city of Batibo as a whole holds a history that dates as far back as the 14th century.
The current Fons Palace situated at the center of the Batibo sub division is the third palace location after many Historic movements, starting from Tad (Kokum), a place believed to have been the origin of the today's Widikum People.
(An influential ethnic group in Cameroon including many of the Grassfield Tribes with Moghamo being one of the largest).
Some historians believe modern humans might have originated from this region, since it is believed to have been the home of Akumka and Tembergka, the last humans with semi-tails.
It's a city made up of quite a few clans and tribes and due to its location and traditional Cameroon ruler who seems to have been a decent ruler without political ties, that pretty much the history of Cameroon IS the history of Batibo.
I'd check out the history of Cameroon as a whole and that would definitely show you the history of your own peope since they seemed pretty important to the country.
There is a possiblity of having ancesters from Europe but I'd be very proud of my Cameroon ancestery from Batibo more....you COULD be an ancester of Cameroon royalty and that is WAY cooler than being part European any day of the week.
EDIT
When your grandparents were young it might have BEEN more like a village! LOL
But Batibo seems to have been the place FOR Kings, it was a Royal village, were the different kings of Cameroon came. It seems the Fon of Batibo rules a lot of different tribes that didn't actually LIVE in town but slowly over the years they have moved into town and have settled there.
Life became more Urban, even in Batibo.
