Reasons why Prussia was challenging Austria for dominance by 1862?

Can anyone please tell me the reasons why Prussia was challenging Austria for dominance by 1862. Thanks in advance.
Austria best answer:

Answer by old-bald-one
The only way to unite Germany was to boot Austria out. Austria had tremendous influence of the southern half of Germany. Prussia had to eliminate that influence before it could try to unite Germany. Prussia was determined to create one united Germany and was willing to do what ever it took to do just that.
