Is it possible to learn a strange and totally new language like Chinese in two months?

Hello friends, I am an African student, precisely from Cameroon studying in China. My major is taught in English, which makes matters a bit easy for me. The problem I have is, I can't interact easily with the people around, for example in the restaurants, shops, bus stations, etc. This makes my days more difficult than they ought to be. I therefore totally depend on your generous and knowledgeable answers to overcome this difficulty in less than no time.
