<p><i>Answer by Rachel</i><br/>There is only one "kind" of Mustang and that's BLM Mustangs. Mustang comes from the word mesteno which translates as "untamed" and just means a wild horse who lives in America. There are different types of Mustangs such as Spanish Mustangs, calvary remount or the Pine Nut ponies. Spanish Mustangs are the only ones that are consistently bred in captivity. There are 4 herds of Spanish blooded Mustangs, and 3 types - Kiger, Sulphur Springs, and Pryor Mountain Mustangs.
