Do you think the Atlanteans were the Alentejans from the Late Bronze Period of Ancient Iberia?

Do you think the Atlanteans were the Alentejans from the Late Bronze Period of Ancient Iberia?

Despite it's small size, it is located just west of the Strait of Gibraltar.
Could there have been an error in interpreting the text? I recall an ancient word related to Atlantis as being an "island" or a "peninsula". Perhaps it was a word in either ancient greek or ancient arabic. This word could mean either an island or peninsula and the place of Alentejans happens to be a peninsula! Coincidence? Perhaps?
