Genaueres lässt sich von offizieller Seite nicht erfahren. Doch stößt man bei der Recherche im Internet oder anderen Pulikationen auf mögliche Inspirationsquellen. So wird aus dem englischen Cheltenham berichtet, dass zwischen 1882 und 1889 zwanzig Menschen eine mysteriöse "Lady in Black" gesehen hätten, die stets übereinstimmend beschrieben wurde. Auch in die Kategorie der übersinnlichen Erscheinungen gehört die Geschichte, die aus dem amerikanischen Bundesstaat Texas erzählt wird.
