Our Fresh Water Lady Arises From Her Lake and Marches to the Sea
lady
Our lady of the lake Lies within her shadowy state Both a monarch and a lady Poured by springs into her bed. Her dreams stir deep Within her though she Dries up in the winter And she's such a joyous woman No more perfect will you see.
She's a blue aquatic temptress And the Earth owes her a favor It unlocks her heavy chains But it can't set her free. Wrapped in her struggles He goes in her deep, a bed Of rocks that make her weep Then pebbles smooth abate her Sleep; she rises from her dream.
How that blue aquatic lady Misting white above the surface Pushes clouds out of her way On her march toward the sea. Water rushing past her ankles As she marches to the sea. And how does my adoration For her gentle weeping sorrow Help but study her in wonder As she marches to the sea?
So she's marched away from her cold bed Within the lake; all thought her dead To rest her final rest; he waits Within his seaweed bed. She wasn't Meant for lake so laden, without salt For her, sweet maiden, without Earth she's just a maiden who Has marched into the sea; A hundred times the size of me.
Once a palace she'd been promised Made of seaweed and a chalice Cupped to store the wrath and malice, Sourly poured into his sea. She forsook That seaweed castle once, dress up To show her garter white and marched Off to her lake in spite, but now She's marching home. Her white neck Is strung with pearls; lilacs hang From her dark curls, her bare thighs caress the sea.
Oh to take her gentle hand And lift her from his sea again; She alone could halt the spell Upon my heart and soul. But only he can take her willing Hand to lift her far above the sand And pull this lady lake into The sea to give her youth again.
He who touched her clouded thigh And knows her curses yet still swims Can stand her pain without him Cursing, giving up in fear; he alone Can drink the vinegar wine Of such a love, not I.
He who grabs without a gasp Masters swells of ocean water Who can give to her a daughter Or a son to rule the sea; he alone can mix with her in love forbidden such as me. He alone Can pull her to his bed and take What's captured me; bring her gently to his sea.
