It is Still the United States Not the United Change

United States

It seems during the last presidential election that we all united together under the name of change. We actually became "United Change" and as one group of Americans we were all together to fix the ills of our economy, and get America back on the road. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, opponents of this young and naive president claim that it is his fault, that he overpromised and under delivered the number one sin in the business world.

Of course, we can't blame this young president because he's never run a business, he's never had to make a payroll, and in many regards he doesn't believe in capitalism and free market enterprise, although he claims to. You see, many of his remarks, especially towards "Joe the Plumber" were somewhat anti-capitalist, and also anti-small business, also very telling.

After all, it is every small business person's goal to earn over $ 250,000 a year running their business, and if we take that American dream away from those that are already self-employed we do ourselves a huge disservice. If you'll recall, president Obama promised that anyone making over $ 250,000 a year would get a tax hike, and anyone who made less than that would have "NO" additional taxes to pay.

Soon, we are going to find that, that simply isn't true, everyone has to pay when the government spends in this manner. But, worse than that, is the false promise, as it also takes away much of the incentive to those who work hard in their businesses to earn that high level of income. At some point, many feared that we were no longer the United States, and we were going to ditch capitalism and free markets, those things that made our country great. So, they planned their escape and exit from the market place.

But, the reality is America cannot ditch those principles and still have change. If we destroy the underlining foundations of our great Republic, we will have none. So the reality is that we are still the United States of America, and if we truly wish to unite in change, there's no way we're going to do it with socialism. Please consider all this.
