All Great Nations Have a Lifecycle and The United States is On the Downturn Now - He Said

If you talk to someone in academia, they will tell you that the United States reign of power over the world is nearly over. When you ask them why, they will tell you because every other nation in history which has risen to power has gone through the same Bell Curve or product lifecycle if you will. And therefore based on history, the United States of America must be the same.
However, I would submit to you that the United States is the greatest nation ever created in the history of the humans, and it is a cut above, and it could easily dismiss that Bell Curve trend of civilization lifecycles to the proverbial desktop trashcan. The other day a professor once again explained to me, something that I've heard so many times I truly wish I would never have to listen to it again; that the United States had its fun in the sun, and now it is a declining nation.
Well, sorry to disappoint all you folks but I say "bull!"
Am I saying that the US can buck all the previous trends? Yes, yes I am. Am I saying the United States of America is better than all the previous great civilization of human history? Yes, that is what I am saying. Am I saying that those examples in mankind's history are invalid here in America? Indeed, this is what I am stating. Am I saying that in the USA we have the governmental structure to ride another 200-year upturn inflection point?
Of course, and if you'd stop harassing me for a second and drop the academic insight, I'll be glad to explain it to you. One of the reasons that advanced societies go into decline is that they move away from the things that made them great. Yes, in the United States of America we are currently doing that, we are moving away from free-market capitalism, and were getting fat, dumb, and happy. But that doesn't mean we could not easily have a resurgence of those very things that made a strong.
All we have to do is ditch the socialist trends in our nation as we make our country a nanny state, and get back to what were good at. Indeed, that wouldn't take much at all. There is no reason for anyone in the US to give up, or jump ship. And quite frankly all this negative talk is bothersome to any true American that knows what we are made of. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
