What were the experiences of black people in feudal or ancient japan?

What were the experiences of black people in feudal or ancient japan?

I have googled it every way I know how, and can't find any accounts of black peoples' experiences in feudal Japan; except for a debated description of the shogun Sakanoue no Tamuramaro. He may or may not have been a very dark Japanese man. What I hope to learn about are any foreign black individuals in Japan, during the years before and up to the Meiji Era.
