Is it against army regulation to wear pin on insignias in Kuwait and Iraq?

I am having an issue that needs to be resolved. Is it against army regulation to wear pin on insignias in the Kuwait/Iraq AO. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also heard that you may only wear the IR flag. Is that also true?

Answer by Stevie
i dont know about it being a regulation... especially since pin on is required on the acu's for things like the CIB, CAB, etc
we never wore pin on because it can be used against you... and if something were to happen it could become lodged in your bone (buddy of mine had just gotten promoted and his new rank became lodged in his collarbone after being thrown down by a blast...we were still wearing DCUs back then)
