Is Hong Kong International Airport trustworthy? I heard it's poorly designed and has many accidents?

I'm flying from Toronto to Hong Kong in the summer and I'm scared since I watched some videos of the airport and the planes come awfully close to some buildings as they land.
Also, is the food at the airport any good?
Hong Kong best answer:

Answer by Max
Its the world's largest airport, I believe. Yes, its safe. I had a pizza there after hiking in the himalayas for 6 days. It was wonderful. I never trust anything but bottled water for drinking though when traveling to places like that.

Hong Kong had several "typhoon shelters," which were places where people lived on boats. This is one of the largest, in the Wanchai district on the north coast of Victoria island.
