<p><i>Answer by ♪♫ Seattle ♫♪</i><br/>Hi there...I didn't know this but doing a short search I found that Australian Animal Health states all the imports and export regulations and it clearly states that Hamsters and Gerbils are not allowed in Australia.
I have to assume you would have to look very hard probably because no one would like to risk having themselves exposed for owning these which is why you are not able to find one.
