What type of plants should i put in my cichlid tank?

I am currently putting together my cichlid tank. I have the crushed coral placed down and it is currently cycling. I would like to know what kind of plants should i put in the tank and also what type of terrain should i have in the tank for the cichlids. They will mainly be Lake Malawi Cichlids.

Malawi best answer:

Answer by aken
Plastic ones, weighed down by rocks and fastened well. Cichlids are usually found in rocky terrain. They are notorious for constantly shifting gravel around in their bid to defend territory and assert breeding rights. Any real plants you put in will be damaged very quickly since they'll constantly be uprooted.

A female Malawi Defense Force student (top, center) acts as an instructor during a small group practical exercise as part of African Deployment Partnership Training in Senga Bay, Malawi recently. The course focuses on pre-deployment, convoy and train-the-trainer development. U.S. Army Africa's Capt. Brad Copas was the primary course facilitator for the two-week course. Staff Sgt. Jacinta Bonner and Chief Warrant Officer Two Francis Ash of the 299th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan., worked with U.S. Army Africa as primary instructors for a Phase III ADAPT training.
