What is the role of India in dealing Blood Diamonds ?

Question inspired from the movie " Blood Diamond" about the bloody conflicts in Sierra Leone and other parts of Africe for Blood Diamond. But shockingly, calm & secure India has a bigger role in this deal as 92% of blood diamonds are illegaly smuggled to India for polishing them. It is a $ 8 billion dollar business here. So is Indian & English industries fuel these conflict and thereby kill innocent people for the sparkle of stone ?

The effect of the Sierra Leone civil war on children and young people was particularly severe, with around 17,000 having fought as "child soldiers" most of them just teenagers, some as young as six years old. With Land Rover's support, the Sierra Leone Red Cross is able to deliver a life-changing programme called Child Advocacy and Rehabilitation (CAR), which helps some of the country's most traumatised young people, to recover and reintegrate back into society.
