I am joining my husband at Khobar. I am travelling from Bangalore . Since direct flight is available only to Bahrain, is there possibility that i can get off at Bahrain and then travel by private taxi by road to Khobar? Also my brother stays in Dammam and he will be picking me from Bahrain. Or should i have Bahrain visa?

<p><i>Answer by mr_brawny</i><br/>Its no problem. Once you are in Bahrain Air port, inform at the counter that you have your own transport and wouldnt want the Airline transport. They charge 20 Riyals (I dont know for what) and give you a reciept. Keep the receipt with you and you can travel with your own transport. They have never asked for the receipt at the border but I guess its in the system.</p>

In Bahrain, witnesses say riot police have tried to disperse protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets.

The clashes took place as officers attempted to stop people gathering for a major rally in the capital, Manama.

It follows demonstrations on Sunday, with protesters calling for reform in the island kingdom.

Bahrain has Sunni muslim rulers but the population is 70 per cent Shia, who claim they are regularly discriminated against.
