i would like to know about the bus also, sometimes the bus is more regular than the train, if anyone knows any good web sites also this would be a great help. thank you xxxx i start my journey from italy take the ferry to croatia and from there i want to travel to sophia, any input??? id love to hear it

<p><i>Answer by Tomislav Ribicic</i><br/>Hello - if you want to stick to the train, this is probably the best route to take:
Train from Zadar to Zagreb (Croatian capital) takes around 10 hours which is way too long. I recommend you take a bus which takes around 4-5 hours at most.
Then take a train from Zagreb to Belgrade, starts 4 times a day, takes around 6 hours.
Finally, there is a train from Belgrade to Sofia, twice a day, takes around 10 hours.
