This is first trip to Colombia in many years, so any "travel" insight re directions, safety, etc will be appreciated. Any hotel recommendations in Buenaventura?

<p><i>Answer by Onlyme</i><br/>If you are arriving at Cali airport they usually have a taxi service there, you'd see a line in a cab counter where you say where do you wish to go and they give you a ticket for an official cab - stay away from the ones that are not with their service. You could go to the bus station and then head to Buanventura OR request the service with the cab at the airport, but that will be much expensier than the 1st option. In Buenaventura you can stay at either Hotel Capilla (57+92+2423000) or Hotel Estación (57+1+2434070) those are THE ONLY good & safe hotels there.</p>
