Why do Ethiopians and Eritreans look rather different from the other Sub-Saharan Africans?

There must be a scientific explanation for that. And how come they speak a semitic language, which is (distantly) related to the language of the Jews and Arabs? Does that suggest any genetic relation between the inhabitants of Ethiopia/Eritrea and the Middle east?
Do not reply to this question if you're a ethno-centrist. I am not alleging that Ethiopians are 'white', all I would like to know is why the Ethiopians look different from other Africans and are not linguistically related to other Sub-Saharan Africans either. If you don't know about SCIENCE, and are an ignorant ethno-centrist, then don't answer this question.
