Which country attacked Belgium during the First World War causing them to join in the fighting?

I'm doing this project for school and I know Britain joined the war because the treaties they had with Belgium. But what happened to Belgium to make Britain attack?
Belgium best answer:

Answer by righteousjohnson
That was Germany.
They attacked through Belgium because it provided the easiest route into France. The idea was to outflank the French defenses, which were massed on the German border, but the Belgians put up more of a fight than anticipated. As a result, the German attack failed to reach Paris and instead bogged down into a trench warfare stalemate across northern France and southern Belgium.
Britain was obligated by treaty to come to the aid of the Belgians.
