the best way to save coins using my rogers BB in bahamas and US?

I'm traveling to bahamas and Florida from canada for a week with my wife. We have a family plan, but I don't think that the unlimited minutes work over there. So what is the best way for some reasonable rates when we need to call each other from time to time?

I would say purchase prepaid GSM sim cards while in the Bahamas to use in your phones. You can get them from Batelco or anywhere that sells cellphones.A $ 10 phone card for each of you should be enough for that period of time. You can purchase phone cards literally anywhere while in the Bahamas.
In Florida you can do the same thing or get two disposable phones.
Something to think about:
I have a sim card that I purchased from ekit.com that works anywhere in the U.S. with no roaming fees. The card costs $ 25 and comes with the added bonus of a free webspace where you can make journal entries about your trip to different places along with a photo gallery to share with your family and friends. You can also send text messages through the website and add more minutes to your phone via credit card. They also have an international phone card that works in over 100 countries but the number they give you is a UK number. Not sure everyone would be comfortable with that.
