How did the British colonization in Egypt impede the development of the country?

After the world war two .. Egypt did not develop at all during the occupation of the British troops, do you guys have any ideas why ?

Egypt best answer:

Answer by SAMP player
The British colonization started in 1882, long before WW1 started (it started in 1914)
Anyway, the occupation nearly made all the resources of Egypt under its control. All the industrial agricultural productions like cottons, sugar cane, wheat...etc were sold to British factories for a low price. And then Egypt would buy the finalized products from Britain for much higher prices.
The puppete governments which worked for the British interests didn't really care about developing the country's education, industry, health care or anything. The ministers only worked for the British interests and their own interest.
After WW2 and the British occupation was over, Egypt went into a series of wars from 1956 to 1973 which drained all of the country's resources so no real devolopment happened. After wars, from 1980 to 2011, the dictator Hosni Mubarak was in control. There were a lot of corruption in the country, so no real devolopment happened too.
So bad governments, bad leaders, dictators, wars, corruption caused by the bad leaders led to no development in Egypt.
