Going on a cruise to Bermuda and would love to know some good activities, anyone have experience?

So, my husband and I love outdoor adventures. I would love to go scuba diving in Bermuda while we are there and possibly swim with dolphins. Truthfully i'm up for anything! Does anyone have Bermuda experience and know any scuba shops or tours, and possibly how much they would or should cost? I am completely lost when it comes to this! If anyone has any recommendations on sight seeing or anything at all! Please let me know :D!

Answer by ckm1956
Bermuda is one of our favorite places to go for a get away.

Your ship will likely "tie up" at Dockyards, a former Royal Navy site. Nice variety of shopping.
Near the entrance, there's a wall where visiting sailors left there mark. Supposedly, Prince Charles did this.

You can get almost anywhere on the transit system. It's fast and easy. It's customary to greet the driver on entering and to thank him/her on leaving. Just remember, Bermuda still has predominately British customs. Traffic is on the "wrong" side of the road for those of us from the US.

If you're into beachcombing, there's a beach where a lot of sea glass tends to wash up. Coming from Dockyards, it'll be on the right, down from a cemetery.

The old Railway Trail runs through the middle of the Island. Part of the way, it's through neighborhoods, other parts have spectacular views. I'd consider hiking part of it.

The city of Hamilton is neat to walk around and has great (although pricey) shopping.

Climbing to the top of Gibbs Hill lighthouse gives you a view almost from one end of the island to another.

The town of St. George (North) is full of history and is thought to be the oldest English speaking colonial town in existence, having been founded almost 400 years ago.

I can't recommend and dive tours, but I've included some links.

A couple of "bewares". Bermuda isn't cheap. At restaurants, tips are already included.
Also, the roads are very narrow, so think twice about renting a scooter.

Have a great trip!!
