Do you agree with the way the world's other great powers allowed fascist Germany and Italy to take Ethiopia, Austria, and Czechoslovakia? Why didn't they intervene sooner?

<p><i>Answer by Phil A</i><br/>All the main European nations had colonies throughout the world, so they just let Musolini and the Italians take over Ethiopia ( or Abysinia as it was then called ). Musolini was kidding himseldf he was a new Roman emperor.
And as far as Austria and the parts of Czechoslavakia taken over by the Nazi Germans, well they were inhabited by Germans anyway. Hitler was originally an ethnic German from Austria, and the Sudatenland was inhabited by Germans, Germany merely expanded its borders.
On the other hand Britain drew a line in the sand and said that if Germany invaded Poland then it would be war.
The rest is history.</p>
