Can anyone help identify the model of the used fuji bike we just purchased?

hi--can anyone pls give us more info on the used fuji we just purchased? it's an L700 hybrid--royal blue/gray. we can't find anything about this particular model online as all the ones that seem similar are further labeled "crosstown" or "monterey," etc... so, we're not sure of it's year or value as it's only marked L700.
we'd appreciate any input anyone has to share regarding this bike.
thanks!

Answer by bikeworks
The L700 was a SMU- a "Special Make Up"- for a Fuji retailer, possibly Performance Bikes or REI, who wanted the Crosstown upgraded or downgraded to meet a particular price point. Larger retailers often change names and tweak component choices to maximize profits, allow them to eliminate competition (no price matches since nobody else carries the bike) and allow steep discounts during sales.
To my knowledge they were available only during the 2004 model year but sales may have spanned a year or so before and after. Based on the componentry details I could find (Shimano Tourney "MegaRange" drivetrain) it probably sold originally for the $ 250 range. In good condition a good resale value, assuming that no work has to be done to it, would be in the $ 125 range.
