Guide to Kerry Airport
Kerry
History...
On the 25th August 1969 the first aircraft landed at Kerry Airport. For a number of years afterwards only light private aircrafts, and the odd charter and cargo flight operated from the airport. Then in July 1979 the very first scheduled flight landed into Kerry Airport using an aircraft operated by Aer Arran.
Over the years, due to growing success, the airport was increased in size, and as a result a new and bigger runway and terminal was built. On 22nd May 1989 the first scheduled flight landed at Kerry Airport's new runway and so Kerry was ready for the world. Further work was carried out at Farranfore with a new runway in May 1994.
Kerry Airport has certainly moved with the times and continues to grow into a bigger and better airport.
