I am sure you can make yourself look your best so that part of your research should not be hard for you to implement. If you are newly single and you have no idea what you should be wearing as your wife or partner has been buying your clothes for the last 10 years don't give up. Go to a shop and ask the staff, especially the girls, what is fashionable now and away you go. You don't have to buy expensive clothes, just look good.
It is the same with cologne, if you don't know just ask the sales assistant what is new and consider buying some of that.
