Long Ladies Cardigans

Ladies, I am sure you have heard of the term cardigan. Many fashionable ladies in these day and age and very smart and intelligent with how they stock up their wardrobes. One of the most important things that a lady who knows how to doll herself up is the cardigan. Yes that is right, the cardigan can be a very useful accessory for a woman's casual day or night out. Most importantly, it gives the wearer a certain level of warmth. Hence there is some usefulness to wearing the cardigan when the weather is cold or maybe when it is winter time. In addition, if you have a limited number of shirts, t-shirts, blouses or maybe even tops, the cardigan when worn over these pieces of clothing would serve to complement what you are already wearing and thus create a more distinct and different look.

When I talk about long cardigans, I am actually talking about long sleeved cardigans. Most cardigans are already long sleeved, however some are long in the sense that that the sleeves cover more than below the wrist and part of the lower torso is also covered, including covering the buttocks and front area partially. Cardigans these days are often long and plain. They are also worn over shirts and inside suit jackets. This results in a less formal waistcoat that keeps neckties out of the way when the jacket has been removed.

Sometimes, ladies knit their own cardigans. This results in a cardigan with a torso that is knit as a single piece in a simple back-and-forth manner. If you are knitting a pullover, circular knitting has to be done. Another way would be to knit the body of the cardigan in three pieces, one for the back and two for the front. As for the neckline of the cardigan, the V-neckline is most popular. Then there is also the the special type of cardigan which is known as a shrug. The shrug is popular among the ladies (I do not think males wear the shrug version of cardigans). The shrug is a unique kind of cardigan that consists of mostly just sleeves, with only a strip of fabric running along the back, resembling a scaled down vest.
