Weight Loss and the United States Soccer Team Advancing to the Next Round in World Cup 2010
United States
Soccer or Football (if you are from outside of the United States) fever has caught on in the United States because of the success of the United States Soccer team advancing to the next round in the World Cup in South Africa. They won their group which consisted of England, Slovenia, Algeria, and the U.S. for the first time since 1930. That was a long time ago- not many people can remember that. When the United States beat the resilient Algerian team, they scored in the last minute for a dramatic victory. The U.S. soccer team has the aurora of pulling out a dramatic victory and dramatic ties. During the last minutes of their match with Algeria, they made substitutions and adjustments. They put themselves in position to get that much-needed victory. If they did not win, they would not advance to the second round. What does that have to do with weight loss and reaching your physical fitness goals?
You have to do all you can to make your weight goal and physical fitness goals to happen. Even if it takes you the last possible minute to reach your goal, you must act upon your goals to make your dream come true. The good thing about your goal is that you can always reset your goal. But, it is important to do all you can to reach your goal. Now, here is the important part. Once you achieve your initial goal, you set another goal. You need to set a goal to go to the "second round". Your initial goal may be to exercise regularly and eat properly for 21 days. During that 21 day period, you may refrain from French fries, desserts, etc. That is a very short period. Hit that first goal so that you can go to the "second round". Goal experts call this principle "the peak-to-peak" principle. When you reach that first peak, you can see the next peak. That is exciting. When you put together a few of these accomplishments (or peaks), you will see yourself making some significant accomplishments such as losing 45 pounds or being able to do 20 pull-ups. Those significant milestones are a series of smaller goals. Just like the United States soccer team in the World Cup, you will need to do all that is possible to qualify for the "second round". Then, you can reset your dreams and goal to progressively reaching your weight loss and fitness goal. That is success. When you are progressively realizing a worthwhile dream or goal, you are living a successful life.
Even if you have not reached the second round in 30 years, you can start anew by resetting your goals to go to the second round to reach your weight loss goals.
