How to Put Down a Protest Using Propaganda in the Media in the United States of America

United States

It sure is interesting watching all the civil unrest going on in the Middle East and North Africa. It was also interesting to watch how these riots, protests, and marches of rage permeated into other cultures. In the last few years we have seen riots outbreak in Southeast Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and the European Union over the austerity programs. We have also seen civil rest in our own civilization, in Wisconsin where entitlements, and pensions have exacerbated the challenges of that state's budget.

There are many causes for upheaval in the world. Commodity prices are rising and that means food prices are going up, staple foods such as corn, wheat, and rice. After the Japanese earthquake there will be some problems with fish just as there was after the Gulf oil spill. There have also been droughts and flooding, and even fires in Russia exacerbating the problem. Humans also often protest when they feel that their rights have been violated, or their freedoms have been stolen.

The United States is not immune to these problems, nor is China even though their centralized government has a lock down on information, censorship, and ruthlessly enforces their laws. There is one way to quickly put down a protest in the United States without a single rubber bullet being fired. It is a simple method, and it goes something like this:

Show constant clips of third world poverty and documentaries of medical and rescue missions to impoverished and disaster stricken nation-states.

You see, in the United States we live in such a wonderful country with so much abundance that people will feel kind of silly protesting, rioting, and marching against the government when actually even our worst day during our worst economic recession, things the United States were pretty good. Although some people lost their jobs, and their homes, our homelessness rates did not significantly increase, and no one really starved to death.

That is a much different scenario in many of the Third World countries or even emerging nations where riots and protests are taking place. It's a whole different ballgame. But be sure that humans will always find something to get upset about, and they will always form mass mobs of hysteria if they are allowed to congregate in perceived desperation. The worst problem in all this is generally these mobs get out of control like rabid dogs and they cause destruction, and a worsening of whatever problem they claim to be protesting against.

Yes, in many ways this is just philosophy 101 mixed with a little social science and words of wisdom. Nevertheless, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it. Because in the United States of America we have a pretty good, and even on our best day we live like kings compared to those in previous periods.
