Rocket Chinese Review - Can You Really Learn Mandarin With Rocket Chinese?

I had previously reviewed on Rocket German. My personal experiences and learning with Rocket German was great. Naturally, after Rocket Chinese was released. I decided to introduce it to my Malay friend, Faridah. Moreover as a Chinese myself, I clearly know what are the basic requirements when it comes to buying a good Chinese language software. Here are some of our personal review Rocket Chinese.
Learning how to speak and understand Chinese is not as easy as ABC. Although Chinese is considered the first language in my country, it does not mean all the Chinese are "Masters of Chinese Language" . It was because the number of words in any language can be very large even when it comes to Chinese language. Researches was also conducted that to be able to read a Chinese newspaper, one must learn at least 3000 characters. Chinese is not easy but definitely not tough if you are willing to learn the language.
Firstly, Rocket Chinese had abolished the method of using traditional style of teaching. Many people like Faridah and myself are the kind that may fall asleep in class especially if joining a language class after a day of work. If the language was not taught in a interesting manner, it could affect our attention in staying alert throughout the lessons.
Secondly, Faridah do not have the budget and time to rush from her work place to the language center. So, if there is a good Chinese language software to help her. She is able to learn Chinese on her own. Moreover, paying the tuition fee to the language center could be another liability for her.
Thirdly, Faridah's job require her to interact with some Chinese bosses and that is one of the reason why she wants to learn basic Chinese at the shortest period of time.
Fourthly, Faridah liked the idea of "Learn As You Play". She told me the games provided inside Rocket Chinese was fun and interesting. She was able to absorb and understand the Chinese words better. Everything was made much more easier to learn.
Faridah is only into her one month completion of learning Chinese with Rocket Chinese. Although, she is still not very good in Chinese language but she was quite happy that she is now able to converse very simple Chinese with the Chinese bosses and have often been praised by them.
Overall, I think Rocket Chinese is good for beginners as every steps are quite detailed and clear. You may not be able to speak very fluently after two months but should be able to understand simple words. Practicing regularly will definitely help you to understand Chinese language better in the long run. In fact, most of the people do not have to worry about the quality of rocket Chinese as it comes with 8 weeks product satisfaction. To sum up, I would give rocket Chinese 4 stars out of 5.
